Reducing border obstacles between EU Member States and IPA beneficiary countries
Obstacles continuously hamper cross-border cooperation not only between EU Member States but also at external borders between the EU and candidate countries. Previous studies already identified numerous such obstacles across policy areas. This study investigates these obstacles between the EU and candidate countries further for the fields of transport and connectivity as well as flood prevention and response. The aim is to better understand obstacles in these two policy areas and to develop possible solutions which are suitable to address them. For this purpose the study conducts case studies, sets up a toolbox of best practices and drafts issues papers with targeted policy recommendations. Spatial Foresight conducts this study in cooperation with t33.
