RE-INDUSTRY – Capacity Building for Re-industrializing Regions in a Globally Decarbonizing Economy

Regions of Västernorrland and Västerbotten in Sweden and Österbotten in Finland have experienced development traps over a substantial period of time due to underperformance in, for example, development of income and productivity. The ESPON RE-INDUSTRY project will compile evidence to support reindustrialisation process. This evidence shall take an innovative and proactive approach on international connectivity and foreign direct investments (FDI). This targeted analysis will be led by Menon economics. Spatial Foresight will mainly contribute to stakeholder dialogues and coordinate the elaboration of policy recommendations.
