Research paper on the potential added value of EU action in addressing regional inequalities

The European Parliament has asked Spatial Foresight to develop qualitative scenarios on the potential added value of EU policies in tackling regional disparities. The focus is on the extent to which EU Cohesion Policy addresses inequalities, looking at recent data, eligibility criteria for cohesion policy funding and the impact on different areas. The scenarios are intended to stimulate discussion on indicators that could be used in addition to GDP when designing the next round of Cohesion Policy.
